About JBSI
Ghana cannot reach its full potential without truth, integrity and disciplined professional competence as the bedrock of our national character.
Named in honour of a distinguished Ghanaian Legal Professional, Justice J. B. Short, JBSI is being established to bring the practical, lived meaning of ethics into every home, school, workplace and public institution in the country.
We are building a national movement — grounded in Ghanaian culture, history and identity — equipping citizens and leaders alike with the knowledge, language and courage to choose honesty, competence, and integrity every time.
Our symbol is Kae Me — "Remember Me" — a call to loyalty and faithfulness that runs through the heart of who we are as a people. We invite you to be part of this from the beginning.
What We Are Building
Curriculum and training in ethics, honesty and professional competence, to be delivered in all national languages at every level — from schools to boardrooms.
The Truth and Integrity Lectures, regional conferences and themed university symposia to convene Ghana's thinkers and doers around real, functional ethics.
Examining and sharing current research on ethics, honesty and professional competence, and publishing a dedicated journal on their effects on individuals and society.
Offering and evaluating ethical behaviour certifications for professionals and organisations across sectors — setting a national standard for integrity in the workplace.
Through regular JBSI Listening Sessions, our leaders will go into communities to hear directly from Ghanaians about the ethical challenges they face in everyday life.
Working with traditional rulers, religious leaders and cultural institutions to reclaim ethical behaviour as a proud and enduring part of Ghanaian identity.
Our National Agenda
These are not abstract discussions. They are the lived reality of every Ghanaian. JBSI is being built to tackle them with rigour, courage and cultural grounding.
From March 2027
Our national symposium — the centrepiece of the JBSI calendar. Bringing together Ghana's foremost thinkers, leaders and citizens around the practical meaning of ethics in national life.
Planned twice a year across Ghana's regions, these conferences will take the conversation out of Accra and into every corner of the country — in local languages, with local leaders.
Themed symposia with Ghana's universities, building the next generation of ethical thinkers and leaders. Each symposium will focus on a single, urgent theme from our national agenda.
Every quarter, JBSI leaders will go into communities — not to speak, but to listen. These sessions will shape our programmes, our themes and our understanding of what Ghana needs.
